Carlo joined the Hong Kong Ballet after graduating with First-Class Honours from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) in 1998. As a senior soloist in the company, he essayed lead roles many company productions. He received the Hong Kong Dance Alliance Award in 2002 for his technical artistry and the depth of his dramatic reading of roles. In June 2009, Carlo obtained his Master of Fine Arts in Dance degree from the HKAPA. A multi-awarded choreographer, his full-length work for Ballet Philippines, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, garnered five accolades from GAWAD BUHAY 2013 including the awards for Outstanding Modern Dance Production and Outstanding Choreography for a Dance Production.  At the 2017 awards ceremony another work for Ballet Philippines, Weighted Whispers, also received the award for Outstanding Choreography for a Modern Dance Production. In 2018 Carlo was the Commissioned Choreographer for the Genée International Ballet Competition when it was held here in Hong Kong.

​Carlo is a certified instructor for Pilates Academy International, Core Suspend™ and GYROTONIC®, and he specializes in ballet coaching. Here in Hong Kong, he divides his time between teaching ballet at various institutions and the Gifted Young Dancer Programme at the HKAPA and at the Elevate Pilates and Movement Studios, which he co-owns and operates.
