Shunsuke Arimizu

Born in Tokyo, Japan, Shunsuke Arimizu graduated from Minori Ballet Studio in 2012 and joined Hong Kong Ballet as a member of the Corps de Ballet the same year. He was named Coryphée in 2016.
 

With Hong Kong Ballet, Arimizu performed featured roles including Japanese Narrator in Yuri Ng's Ballet Classics for Children: Swan Lake, Jewels in Cynthia Harvey’s The Sleeping Beauty, Russian Doll in Terence Kohler’s The Nutcracker, Bolero in Nina Ananiashvili’s Don Quixote, Benvolio and Lord Capulet in Rudi van Dantzig’s Romeo and Juliet, Lead Pontevedrian Dancer in Ronald Hynd’s The Merry Widow, St. Gaudins in Val Caniparoli's Lady of the Camellias, Horse in Alexei Ratmansky’s Le Carnaval des Animaux, Solo and Trio in Nacho Duato’s Castrati, and Pas de Trois in Jorma Elo’s Shape of Glow. He has also danced in John Meehan’s Swan Lake, Terence Kohler's The Nutcracker, Ronald Hynd's Coppélia, David Allan’s Cinderella, Pär Isberg’s Pinocchio, George Balanchine’s Serenade, Jiří Kylián's Petite Mort, Fei Bo’s Shenren Chang and Edwaard Liang’s Sacred Thread,. His previous repertoire includes Prince in The Nutcracker with Japan Ballet Association, soloist roles with Ballet Chambre Ouest and Inoue Ballet Foundation in Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, Coppélia, and Cinderella.
